The Start of The Baby Room

Brian and I have been busy the last few weeks shopping for baby furniture! I had NO idea how many options there are when it comes to styles, colors and brands.

The first thing we decided on was what color furniture we wanted. We both did not want to have white or black furniture, so we have opted to look for a darker wood - either walnut, espresso or cherry. We want the furniture to be able to work in either a girl or boys room and we want it to last through at least a few kids!

While browsing through some online crib stores, I came to the realization that I was not a fan of cribs that were TOO curvy and that I was drawn to simple, classic looking cribs. We started our search at Babies'R'Us and only really found one set we liked. I was not sold on it, so we kept looking. The next stop was Burlington Coat Factory and nothing there really caught my eye either.

I was talking with my friend Davi, who had a baby last November. and she told me about a little store down south called USA Baby - so Brian and I went to check it out this past Thursday. I was VERY impressed with the store - they carry furniture that is a little pricier than other stores, but the quality and styles were exactly what I was looking for. After walking around the store, we found five sets that we really liked.

After some further thought, consideration and online research, I think we have narrowed it down to the following three sets:

Annabelle

Urban

Wendy

SO - what do you all think? We would love to hear your thoughts!

And last but not least, I just wanted to share with you all the first purchase we made for the baby's room! I actually had seen this for the first time a few years ago and when I saw it again about a month ago, I could not help but purchase it! This baby will be born a Texas fan!

The mobile even plays the "Eyes of Texas" - how great is that??
