2 Weeks To Go!

Today, I am 38 weeks pregnant. Only two more weeks to go until our official due date! Whether little James will show up before, on, or after that day is still to be determined. Brian has a feeling about the 8th of February and I used to have a feeling about the 9th, but I am not so sure anymore. Personally, I think it would be funny if he decided to make his appearance on Super Bowl Sunday (which is the 7th).

Anyone want to place bets on what date he will show up?

I realize that I have not taken any belly shots in a long time, so I finally had Brian take one tonight. Here is my 38 week shot. You cannot really tell by the picture - but I have officially "dropped" - Jamie is hanging out very low in my pelvis which in turn makes me look a little smaller than I did just a few short weeks ago!

38 weeks

In other baby updates, Brian and I have been busy getting everything together for our little guy. The nursery is just about done and our game room is starting to look like a baby store with the Pack N Play, Swing, Bouncer, Play Mat and Travel Crib all set up! Below are some shots of Brian putting his handiness to work on the Bouncer and Swing.

so... what do I need to do?
ok - that one was easy to put together!

uh oh - this one has a LOT of pieces...slowly coming together
all done... I am the man!

36 weeks

Today I am officially 36 weeks pregnant.

Which means I have 4 weeks to go.

Which means I have 28 days left to get ready for this baby.

In less than a month, our lives will be forever changed!

I had my weekly check-up this past Wednesday and everything is looking good and we are right on track. Baby James is head down and has already dropped quite low (which explains why I have to go potty all the time)! At our next appointment, we will get one more ultrasound to see how big our little boy is and this will be the last time we get to see him before we meet him for real.

I cannot even begin to describe how excited and scared I am at the same time. Brian and I were sitting in the baby's room last night and I was trying to imagine what it will be like to have little Jamie there in the room with us. It is hard to believe that this journey is almost over... and that soon we will be a family of three!

Maternity Photo Shoot & Room Updates

This past Sunday, Brian and I had our maternity photo shoot with an amazing photographer - Mollie. We had a hard time trying to figure out where to take the photos and would go back and forth on taking them at the house or taking them outside somewhere. Ultimately, we decided to take the pictures at The University of Texas campus and I think it was the perfect choice! The weather cooperated for the most part - it was sunny and beautiful - but pretty cold! Click here to see a sneak peek of our session.

What do you all think??

The past few weeks I have slowly, but surely, been working on putting the baby room together. I have been VERY indecisive on how I want the room organized and decorated - thus the delay in posting some photos! I will put something up and then decide the next day that I no longer like it. I just want the room to be perfect...

I did manage to get done loads and loads of laundry of baby clothes, bibs, burp pads and blankets. My parents saved all of my baby blankets from when I was little, so our little guy already has quite the collection of blankets to keep him warm and cozy! I have also been working on getting together all the stuff that me and the baby will need at the hospital. I think at this point I have everything I need - I just need to pack it all up!

While I try my best to finish this room in the next few weeks, enjoy the following shots of some of the special touches in the room:
